On September 24, 2024, the 2024 China (Nanning) - ASEAN Automotive Industry Cooperation and Development Forum was held in Nanning, Guangxi. An Tiecheng, the Party Secretary and Chairman of the China Automotive Technology & Research Center Co., Ltd. (referred to as "CATARC"), delivered a speech at the forum. Lu Mei, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of CATARC, attended the forum and witnessed the launch of the public service platform for the internationalization of the automotive industry. Hou Gang, the Executive Vice Mayor of Nanning, Su Baoli, the Secondary Inspector of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Cheng Chun, the Secondary Inspector of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce, Murdoko, the Chairman of the Indonesian New Energy Vehicle Industry Association, and Ekkanit Romiyanon, the Inspector General of the Thai Ministry of Industry, also delivered speeches at the forum.

     The forum was hosted by CATARC and themed "Sharing New Opportunities, Planning New Developments, and Promoting the Quality and Upgrade of China-ASEAN Automotive Industry Cooperation." It included three sessions: the "Closed-door Meeting: China-ASEAN Automotive Industry Cooperation High-Level Symposium," the "Special Forum: International Cooperation and Policy and Regulation Seminar on the Automotive Industry," and the "Plenary Session: China (Nanning) - ASEAN Automotive Industry Cooperation and Development Forum." Over 400 guests attended the forum, including leaders from national ministries, representatives from government departments and related agencies of ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia, representatives from Chinese embassies and consulates, leaders and officials from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, leaders and officials from Nanning, and representatives from domestic and international enterprises and institutions.
