The certification of automobiles and their components in Saudi Arabia is mainly based on the SABER certification system. The SABER certification is supervised by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).
In the SABER system, automobiles and their components are regarded as regulated products. Importers first need to register the product information in the system, and then select a relevant certification body (CB body) for review.
PC Certificate (Product Conformity Certificate): The importer registers the product information in the Saber account, which will be reviewed by the CB body. After passing the review and paying the relevant fees, the CB body will issue the PC certificate.
SC Certificate (Certificate of Conformity for Shipment of Imported Products): Submit an SC application in the Saber system. Once approved, obtain this certificate to facilitate the customs clearance of the goods.
