The Thailand Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) is the abbreviation for the Thailand Industrial Standards Institute.
The Thailand Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) is the abbreviation for the Thailand Industrial Standards Institute. TISI is a department under the Ministry of Industry of Thailand, responsible for establishing standards that meet domestic needs and international standards, and for monitoring products and certification processes to ensure compliance with standards and accreditation. TISI is not only the government authority responsible for mandatory certification in Thailand but also a standard-setting and management body, a certification body, and a laboratory accreditation, personnel training, and registration body. Notably, Thailand does not have a non-governmental mandatory certification body.
Thailand implements a TISI certification system that combines mandatory and voluntary certification. Products that meet the standards are allowed to use the TISI mark. For products that have not yet had standards established, TISI also implements product registration as a temporary certification measure.
The Thailand Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has developed standards to meet the needs and development of the national industry, enterprises, economy, government, and society, as well as government policy support, consumer protection, and environmental and natural resource conservation. TISI offers a product certification program that includes two types of certification marks, namely the voluntary certification mark and the mandatory certification mark.
